The steamer I used in the video is from Ebay.... Note: If you don't have a steamer...
You can also use a pot of boiling water and dip the dreads into the water to seal them.... or A wet towel and hair straighteners work well too.. ....
Sealing the synthetic hair with hot water helps maintain the shape.
Amount of dreads for a full head .....?
Aprox: Single ended +60 Double ended +30 Depending on the thickness of the dreadlocks....

I have been making dreadlocks for almost 10 years now and there are may methods on how to make them.

The method I found works best is making sure you are consistent while back combing the hair.
All the way through the hair section.
Making the created dreadlock firmer in texture. with no weak spots..

Using a 0.75mm crochet hook is a nice thickness of tool to create the dreadlocks.

Pulling the crochet hook through the dreadlock hooking the loose hairs,
and then pulling them through. Twisting the hair while working down the dreadlock.
Entangling the hairs together.

Depending on the thickness of the hair. over time the dreadlocks will "mature"
The hair texture will tighten naturally over time and also with regular hair washing.
it is a natrual process of having dreadlocks.

Using a crochet rook speeds up the maturing process and compresses the hair tighter for the dreadlocks to hold there shape.
A crochet hook is also a good way to maintain the dreadlocks!
By pulling through any loose hairs. and creating the hair texture you desire.

You can add beads and gems to your dreadlocks and customise them with hair wraps.
These dreadlocks are great if your are not sure on having the full commitment of real dreadlocks. its a great way of having the feel and look until you decide to have real ones.. or  just looking to add something to your style!

Synthetic dreadlocks offer a fantastic alternative for those looking to experiment with this unique hairstyle without the commitment of traditional methods.

1. Instant Transformation

One of the most significant advantages of synthetic dreadlocks is the ability to achieve a bold look instantly. Unlike traditional dreads, which take time to form, synthetic options allow you to transform your hairstyle in just a few minutes. This is perfect for anyone wanting to try out the look without a long-term commitment.

2. Low Maintenance

Synthetic dreadlocks are generally low-maintenance compared to natural hair dreads. They don’t require the same level of upkeep, such as regular twisting or separating. This makes them a convenient choice for those with busy lifestyles, allowing you to enjoy the aesthetic without the extensive care involved in natural dreads.

3. Variety of Styles and Colors

Synthetic dreadlocks come in a wide array of colors, lengths, and textures, giving you the freedom to express your personal style. Whether you want bold, vibrant colors or more subtle shades, there’s a synthetic option to match your aesthetic. This variety allows for endless creativity in your hairstyle.

4. No Commitment to Your Natural Hair

With synthetic dreadlocks, you can enjoy the look without the commitment. If you decide you want to change your style, simply remove the synthetic dreads. This flexibility means you can easily switch up your appearance according to your mood or occasion.
